Interior Designist (IDist) Shipping Policy
The shipping/delivery prices on our site are ESTIMATES ONLY
At IDist, we make every effort to provide accurate shipping quotes on our site. However, extra charges may apply if there is more than one flight of stairs, limited road access or difficult, restrictive points of entry. Please make sure that you disclose any possible impediments in the section allotted at check out. It's much better to work these things out in advance rather than encountering surprises at delivery. If we cannot prepare for unusual circumstances, it is possible that the delivery will not be completed as intended.
IDist cannot be held responsible for such occurrences. If we do have to contact you prior to delivery with additional charges and you in turn decide that you would like to cancel your order, that is no problem. Just let us know upon notification and you will be fully refunded and the purchase voided.
Lead times
Carrier pick-ups can typically be arranged within several days of purchase. Long distance delivery lead times within the USA are variable depending on location.
White glove delivery
Unless other arrangements have been made, IDist shipping quotes include fully insured white glove delivery for all larger items that are not suitable for UPS or FedEx or USPS shipping methods. White glove delivery means that your purchase will be placed inside your home, assembled if necessary and all trash will be removed. White glove delivery does not include installation for wall or ceiling mounted items or the services of an electrician for lighting installations.
Receiving local deliveries and long distance shipments:
In order for you to have the best experience possible when receiving your long delivery, please follow the guidelines below.
It is very important that you or someone that you trust, carefully inspects your order when it arrives. If you (or a trusted surrogate) notice anything that seems other than what you expected (based on photos, web-site descriptions or discussions with us) you must have the delivery company make a note of it on their BOL (paperwork) while they are on site. Do not sign off on a delivery without making a notation of unexpected damages to the item or packaging. Once the delivery people leave, it is very difficult for us to file a claim with the shipper on your behalf.
Modern Resale will not incur costs associated with loss or damage to your order if it is not reported properly. If you do notice anything of concern, in addition to having it noted with the delivery company, please notify us by phone or email so that we can take the appropriate action.
Long distance shipments:
Know what to expect: All shipments come from our warehouse in New York City. The shipper that is delivering your order will call you to schedule a delivery day and time when they are getting close to your area. They make many stops along the way so exact arrival dates and times cannot be scheduled in advance of a few days.
Warehouse pick up
There is a no charge for warehouse pickups at our New York City location. All warehouse pickups must be made within 5 business days of purchase. There is no return option does with warehouse pickups. Once an item has been picked up, all sales are final.
IDIST WILL NOT SHIP ANY ORDERS WITHOUT ACTUAL SHIPPING AND DELIVERY CHARGES BEING PAID IN FULL.
